Patios & Paving in Cambridgeshire

Porcelain, natural stone and block-paved patios laid on proper foundations — outdoor spaces built for Fenland weather and made for entertaining.

What we do

A patio that lasts, not one that lifts.

A patio is only as good as what's underneath it. On March's low-lying Fenland ground, that means a properly dug-out sub-base and the right falls for drainage — get that wrong and you're looking at pooling water and lifted slabs within a couple of winters.

We lay porcelain, natural stone (Indian sandstone, limestone) and block paving to a full-mortar, professional finish, with edging and drainage designed for the way water sits round here. The result is a clean, level outdoor room you'll actually use — across March, Chatteris, Whittlesey and the surrounding villages.

On the tools

What's included in a patio project

Proper foundations

Dug out, compacted sub-base and the right falls for drainage — the bit most patio problems come down to.

Porcelain & natural stone

Low-maintenance porcelain or characterful Indian sandstone and limestone, cut and laid cleanly.

Edging, steps & walls

Patios tied in with steps, retaining walls and pathways so the whole space flows.

Sealed & finished

Pointed, sealed where needed and left swept clean — ready to use, not a building site.

Common questions

Patio & paving FAQs

How much does a new patio cost in March?
It depends on size, the material (porcelain, sandstone or block paving) and any drainage or steps needed. We give a free site visit and an honest fixed price before any work starts — no surprises.
Why do patios lift or pool water on Fen ground?
Almost always a foundations problem. Our low-lying peat and clay soils hold water, so without a properly compacted sub-base and the correct falls a patio will move. We dig out fully and build the base right for the ground here.
Porcelain or natural stone — which is better?
Porcelain is hard-wearing, frost-proof and almost maintenance-free; natural stone has more character and warmth. We'll show you samples and what suits your budget and house.
Do you do the patio and the planting around it?
Yes — we're landscapers as well as pavers, so we can tie the patio in with beds, edging, lawns and screening for a finished look.
